hen you grow up
in such handsome cellars, you necessarily become a winemaker. ean-François FAUQUE
welcomes you to his family's vineyard to share with you his passion for
wine and the wine making. ith
his brother Philippe, Jean-François, who has an oenology
grade from the Bordeaux Institute, keeps alive the long family
tradition he learned from his parents
-Evelyne and Jean-Claude- and his paternal and maternal
grand-parents.
oday, the family
harmoniously shares vineyard work, wine making and marketing. We
produce the best wines at the estate with a particular care for
quality and evolution. We currently own a 50 hectares (123 acres)
vineyard divided as follows:
4,5 hectares (11 acres) of AOC (French quality label)
Vacqueyras
3,5 hectares (8 acres) of AOC Villages Plan de Dieu
2 hectares (5 acres) of AOC
Côtes du Rhône Villages
25 hectares (62 acres) of AOC Côtes du
Rhône
15 hectares (37 acres) of vin de Pays (local wine)
A quarter of the vineyard is made up of very ancient planting vines.
This old
vinestock, always very well-maintained, forms the pillar of the wines
to cellar. Red grape varieties account for 90% of the vineyard; white
grape
varieties are typical of the southern Rhône Valley (grenache,
clairette, roussanne et marsanne). See grape
variety page.
